Gladys Marie Veale Nolting was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Frank E. Veale and Ethyl Gessert Veale. From childhood, her faith in God shaped the course of her life. As a first-grade student, she was deeply inspired by Psalm 100, a passage that became the foundation of her lifelong desire to "serve the Lord with gladness." After marrying Earl Seeger Nolting, Sr., Gladys devoted herself to her family before pursuing a career in broadcasting. She worked as an advertising copywriter for WCSI Radio in Columbus, Indiana, and later co-owned WHDM Radio in McKenzie, Tennessee with her husband. There, she managed station operations, wrote advertising copy, and hosted a weekday morning program for women. She later served as Executive Secretary to the Dean of the Dental School at Emory University until her retirement. Following her husband's death in 1990, Gladys began writing devotional reflections drawn from her faith and life experiences. Her writings offer encouragement to those navigating aging, grief, and life's challenges, reminding readers of God's faithfulness and the joy found in serving Him. Gladys passed away on November 15, 1999, leaving behind a legacy of faith, perseverance, and service. Through her words, she continues to inspire readers to live with gratitude, hope, and unwavering trust in the Lord.
